Firstly, I question the article's authenticity to begin with. That Christians must lock themselves indoor because of Jews spitting at them is certainly ironic, given the 2000 year old persecution of Jews by Christians. Those Jews had to deal with terrible persecutions including death: a bit more difficult then the alleged saliva that Christians must tolerate.
