The respected journal SCIENCE recently published "Use of U.S. Croplands for Biofuels Increases Greenhouse Gases Through Emissions from Land Use Change" which found that using any currently produced biofuel or ethanol from switchgrass was far worse for the environment than using ordinary gasoline and actually speeds global warming. Biofuel production is shrinking the human food supply, causing water shortages, and accelerating topsoil erosion which leads to desertification of the planet. The only biofuel ideas that hold promise are biofuels made from algae or garbage. Unfortunately, those two technologies are still experimental and unproven.

The inconvenient facts and unanswered questions surrounding the attacks are legion, but the endemic sloppiness of the self-styled "researchers" is delegitimizing the entire project of critiquing the "official version." The ostentatiously named "Truth movement" is not clearing the air, but muddying the water.
