The Dalai Lama now says to people in the west that he has never issued or encouraged a ban on the Buddhist deity Dorje Shugden yet in India, for the past 12 years he has encouraged members of the Tibetan government, the people of the exile community and abbots of all the major monasteries to discriminate against and seperate themselves from those who will not give up the peaceful Buddhist prayer of Dorje Shugden.
