Honduras: repression continues; Obama acquiescing in coup?

    The Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH) led a hundreds-strong cross-country march from Comayagua to the capital Tegucigalpa Aug. 12 to oppose the coup regime and demand the return of ousted President Manuel Zelaya. Honduran security forces again used tear gas to break up protests in Tegucigalpa and elsewhere this week, while a State Department statement pledges US "neutrality" in the conflict.
